Keep Manuza Bali running smoothly by maintaining spotless kitchen spaces, clean equipment, and reliable back-of-house support as part of a welcoming hospitality team.
We are looking for a Steward to join the team at Manuza in Bali and support the delivery of clean, organised, and efficient kitchen and hospitality operations. You will be responsible for washing and sanitising kitchen equipment, crockery, glassware, and utensils while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and teamwork.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is reliable, hardworking, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You will work closely with the kitchen team, service team, bar team, and management to ensure that clean equipment and supplies are available throughout service and that all back-of-house areas are maintained to Manuza standards.
Main Responsibilities
Wash, rinse, sanitise, and store crockery, cutlery, glassware, cookware, kitchen utensils, and other operational equipment.
Operate dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment safely and in accordance with operating procedures.
Maintain a continuous supply of clean plates, bowls, cutlery, glassware, cookware, and utensils during service.
Clean and sanitise kitchen areas, dishwashing stations, floors, sinks, drains, storage areas, and other back-of-house spaces.
Support kitchen team members with the cleaning and preparation of workstations, equipment, and operational areas.
Collect, separate, and dispose of food waste, rubbish, packaging, and recyclable materials in line with company procedures.
Handle cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies safely and follow all relevant product instructions.
Maintain the organisation and cleanliness of storage areas, cleaning stations, bins, and back-of-house facilities.
Assist with receiving, moving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and operational items when required.
Report damaged equipment, breakages, maintenance issues, shortages, spills, and safety hazards to the Supervisor or Manager promptly.
Support opening, closing, deep-cleaning, and daily stewarding procedures in line with operating standards.
Follow food safety, hygiene, health, workplace safety, waste management, and sanitation requirements at all times.
Use water, cleaning products, equipment, and other resources responsibly to support cost control and environmental practices.
Work closely with the kitchen, bar, service, and management teams to maintain smooth service operations.
Assist with other cleaning, preparation, and back-of-house tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Manager.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Steward, Kitchen Steward, Dishwasher, Cleaner, or similar role is preferred.
Experience in a restaurant, café, bar, hotel, beach club, catering, or other hospitality environment is an advantage.
Good understanding of cleaning, sanitation, hygiene, and safe food handling procedures.
Ability to use dishwashing machines, cleaning tools, and basic kitchen equipment safely.
Strong work ethic with a reliable, responsible, and positive approach.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen and hospitality environment.
Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and workplace safety requirements.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to remain organised and calm during busy service periods.
Comfortable standing, walking, lifting, bending, and working for extended periods.
Comfortable working with water, cleaning chemicals, heat, noise, and a busy back-of-house environment.
Comfortable working shifts, weekends, public holidays, and late hours when required.
Basic English communication skills are preferred.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Practical knowledge of kitchen cleaning, dishwashing, sanitation, and back-of-house support.
Ability to maintain clean, safe, and organised kitchen and stewarding areas.
Good understanding of hygiene, food safety, waste disposal, and workplace safety procedures.
Ability to work quickly and consistently while maintaining attention to detail.
Reliable, punctual, physically fit, and willing to take responsibility for assigned tasks.
Positive, flexible, and collaborative attitude with a willingness to support the wider team.
Ability to prioritise tasks and respond effectively to changing operational requirements.
Previous hospitality, cleaning, kitchen, or stewarding training is an advantage.
